This is my first video in a series that will total 28 videos to correspond with my personal journey during Radiation and Chemotherapy treatment for Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer.
For those who are new here, a quick summary: I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal cancer in June of 2018. I have completed 14 rounds across 7 months of FOLFOX chemotherapy. Yesterday, I began radiation therapy with a new chemotherapy regimen, Taxol + Carbo.
My metastases responded well to the FOLFOX but I still have signs of cancer in my esophagus. We are trying radiation with a new chemotherapy in hopes of if it eliminating the existing cancer. All my lymph nodes are currently shrunk back to normal.
Remember: Stage 4 Esophageal cancer does not have a cure, it can only be treated. I am having much success but we are not out of the woods, yet.
Thanks again for stopping by and supporting me through this journey.

In this video I claim radiation days without chemo or consultation average 3-4 hours. What I meant to say is they average 2-3 hours with drive time from Cedar Rapids to Iowa City, waiting for the appointment after check-in and going home.
